The Belgian Cancer Registry consists of

Raad van Bestuur (Board of directors)      

The 'Raad van Bestuur'(Board of directors) is responsible for managing the Belgian Cancer Registry.             

The Board consists of representatives from:

  • the Minister of Social Affairs,
  •  the Minister of Public Health,
  • the Communities
  • health insurance institutions

It consists of an equal number of members from each language system. The Board's chairman and vice-chairman originate from different language communities.

Raadgevend Comité (Consultative Committee)

The 'Raadgevend Comité' ensures the qualitative and quantitative aspects of cancer registration and approves reports.
The 'Raadgevend Comité' consists of 33 actual members and 33 substitute members, with an equal distribution from the different language communities. The chairman and vice-chairman originate from different language communities.

Employees

A team of specially trained employees are responsible for the Cancer Registry's daily operations.

The staff team at the Belgian Cancer Registry is highly diversified.

It consists of

  • doctors,
  • data managers,
  • administrative staff,
  • scientific staff
  • and temporary employees responsible for one-off projects.
